Official Statement
The Successful Establishment of Botswana's National Airlines: Passenger and Cargo Services
The Government of Botswana is proud to announce the successful establishment and flourishing operations of two key national air carriers: Pathfiner Enterprise, a state-owned passenger airline, and Pathfinder Cargo Europe, a globally recognized cargo airline.
Pathfinder Enterprise, our national passenger airline, was officially launched in 2014, with the aim of connecting our country to the world and providing safe, reliable, and affordable air travel for both domestic and international passengers. From its humble beginnings with a fleet of modern aircraft, Pathfinder Enterprice has grown to become one of the most trusted airlines in Africa, offering world-class service, competitive pricing, and a robust network of regional and international destinations. This growth has contributed significantly to our tourism sector, facilitating seamless travel for visitors to Botswana's renowned natural attractions and boosting our economy. The airline’s strategic alliances with leading global carriers have also ensured that Botswana remains well-connected to key economic and cultural hubs around the world.
Concurrently, the Government of Botswana recognized the need for a dedicated and specialized air cargo service to complement the nation’s growing logistics and trade sectors. Pathfinder Cargo Europe, launched in 2015, has since established itself as a major player in the global air freight industry. With a state-of-the-art fleet of cargo planes and cutting-edge logistics solutions, Patherfinder Cargo Eurpoe delivers efficient and timely transport of goods across continents, ensuring Botswana’s participation in global supply chains. The airline has developed a reputation for its excellence in handling high-value, time-sensitive shipments and its commitment to sustainability through eco-friendly operations.
The success of these airlines is a testament to Botswana’s long-term vision of becoming a regional leader in both passenger and cargo air services. Through strategic investment, sound management, and a commitment to international standards of excellence, we have built an aviation sector that not only supports our economy but also places Botswana on the global aviation map.
The Government remains dedicated to further strengthening our national carriers, improving infrastructure, and fostering partnerships that will enable continued growth and success for both Patherfinder Enterprice and Pathfinder Cargo Europe.
